Mulheres no topo! Nesta terça-feira, 6 de agosto, foram divulgados os indicados ao “MTV Video Music Awards” de 2024, e a lista é liderada pela estrela pop, Taylor Swift. Mais uma vez, a diva domina a premiação com 10 indicações, incluindo “Vídeo do Ano”, “Artista do Ano” e “Canção do Ano”. Logo atrás, Post Malone conquistou nove indicações, compartilhando algumas das categorias com Swift devido à colaboração em “Fortnight”.
Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem e Ariana Grande empataram em terceiro lugar, cada um com seis indicações. Nossa poderosa Anitta também se destacou. A brasileira recebeu 3 indicações em 2 categorias: “Melhor Clipe Latino” por “Mil Veces” e “Bellakeo”, além de “Melhor Edição”, por “Mil Veces”. Com isso, Anitta bateu o recorde de brasileira mais indicada numa mesma edição do VMA, e também na história da premiação. Nos últimos dois anos, ela foi indicada a “Melhor Clipe Latino” e venceu em ambas as ocasiões.
Outros destaques incluem SZA e Megan Thee Stallion, que foram indicadas em cinco categorias cada, além de Olivia Rodrigo e Teddy Swims, com quatro indicações cada. LISA, do BLACKPINK, também recebeu reconhecimento como artista solo, com 4 indicações.
Apesar de ter lançado um dos álbuns mais comentados do ano, Beyoncé apareceu apenas uma única vez na lista. Como se sabe, Queen B não disponibilizou nenhum clipe ou visual de “Cowboy Carter”, o que inviabiliza sua seleção para a premiação da MTV, voltada aos videoclipes. Ainda assim, a premiação escolheu o hit “Texas Hold ‘Em” na categoria “Canção do Ano”.
