VMA 2021: Justin Bieber e Megan Thee Stallion lideram indicações; Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish e BTS também se destacam — confira a lista

Além da disputa pelo prêmio de “Artista do Ano”, o canadense foi nomeado nas categorias de “Melhor Clipe Pop”, “Melhor Feat” e “Melhor Edição” pelo sucesso de “Peaches”. Bieber também aparece entre os candidatos de “Melhor Fotografia” para o vídeo todo cinematográfico de “Holy”, e com o clipe de “POPSTAR”, concorre aos prêmios de “Melhor Direção” e “Clipe do Ano” – o mais importante dos VMAs.

Logo na sequência, vem Megan Thee Stallion. A rapper recebeu seis indicações e, assim como Bieber, está no páreo para o troféu de “Artista do Ano”. Apenas com o hino “WAP”, Megan concorre aos prêmios de “Clipe do Ano”, “Música do Ano”, “Melhor Clipe de Hip Hop” e “Melhor Feat”, pela parceria memorável com Cardi B. A sexta indicação veio com a faixa “On Me (The Remix)”, que também aparece na categoria de “Melhor Clipe de Hip Hop”.

Mas é claro que eles não estão sozinhos… Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, BTS, Lil Nas X e Olivia Rodrigo também deram o nome este ano, e estão empatados com cinco indicações cada um. Com destaque para a dona do hit “Driver’s License”, que concorre na premiação pela primeira vez e é uma das favoritas ao prêmio de “Artista Revelação”, assim como o cantor Giveon.

Após uma edição “anormal” e cheia de dificuldades por conta da pandemia da Covid-19, o VMA 2021 será transmitido ao vivo, direto do Barclays Center, em Nova York. A premiação contará com público presencial e vai ao ar no dia 12 de setembro, às 22h, na MTV Brasil. A votação já está aberta e os fãs podem escolher seus favoritos a partir de hoje, no site da MTV.
